BIO

Grace Morrow (she/her) is an author of adult and YA fantasy whose books always have a splash of romance in them. She is a current graduate student, receiving her M.A. in Art History. Grace's goal is to inspire the same feelings one might associate with looking at a particular piece of art and integrating that feeling into her books. A true Californian, she lives with her husband and two unruly cats. When she isn't writing you can find her binge watching the latest trash reality tv show, working with an academic support program, or trying to keep alive her many, many, succulents.

Grace is open to both YA and Adult novels in Fantasy (any subgenre), Romance (any subgenre), and Gothic Horror.

First and foremost I am a fantasy lover. Give me all things fantasy, give me your epic quests, give me your magical creatures, give me MAGIC! Whether it be high or low, grimdark or cozy, if it's fantasy I want to see it! In addition, I'm a romance enthusiast! I need at least some sprinkle of romance (sorry, I'm simply just a girl), give me your swoony romance, your silly romcoms, your heart-wrenching tragedies.

Specific Fantasy Requests:

  • I love a morally gray character (perks if it's the LI), I'd love to see more flawed characters who are only out for themselves and who would burn the world to get to the top.

  • I would love to see more portal and urban fantasy!

  • Doomed romance in fantasy (I want my heart wrenched out of my chest because their love couldn't endure what was set before them)

  • Fantasy rooted in lesser-known mythological tales 

  • Historical fantasies that deal with science (think alchemy, chemistry, etc.)

Specific Romance Requests:

  • Genre-blending romcoms! I want something that will make me laugh out loud, bonus points if the MC has an unconventional job.

  • Historical (bonus points if it comps Peaky Blinders or House of Guinness)

  • Anything that deals with the late 18th-19th century

  • I love a medieval tale and knights

  • Would love to see a Shakespearean twist

  • Italian Renaissance (bonus points if it deals with the powerful families - Medici's, d'Este's, etc.)

  • Tudor settings 

Specific Gothic Horror requests:

  • New takes on lovecraftian eldritch creatures 

  • Haunted castles

  • Anything that can be compared to a Guillermo Del Toro film 

General interests:

  • Character driven novels

  • College students figuring out their lives

  • Smut welcome (in Adult only)

  • Found family

  • If villian, why hot?

  • Oh, naur, only one bed! *gasps*

  • Multi-POV

Not the best fit for:

  • Time travel or dual timeline

  • Mermaid stories (unless they aren't a central part to the story)

  • Pregnancy plot/trope (unless it's not a central part of the story)

  • Dark academia (unless it's set in a secondary world and ISN'T contemporary)

  • Incomplete manuscripts 

  • Instant love (okay with instant lust *devil emoji*)

  • Vampires (only because my debut is about them! Open to vampires set in an urban/portal setting but nothing gothic)

  • Heavy purple prose novels that lean more literary (I enjoy reading but not the best fit for mentoring)

  • Ghosts as central characters
