MSWL

  • Age groups: adult, new adult

  • Genres: romance, women’s fiction, contemporary, speculative. I dabble in other adult genres as well and occasionally read YA romance, so feel free to submit to me even if your book is not an exact match!

  • Bookish things I love:

    • Contemporary romance with banter and emotional depth à la Emily Henry, Mhairi McFarlane, Annabel Monaghan. Bonus points if you can make me both laugh and cry!

    • Romance with magical/speculative elements but rooted in a contemporary setting, e.g. You’re the One That I Haunt by Katie Jung, The Mash Up by Laura Marie Meyers, anything by Ashley Poston

    • Books with satire, a snarky voice, and/or an unlikable MC, e.g. Good Material by Dolly Alderton, Best Offer Wins by Marisa Kashino, Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke

    • Books about messy relationships, e.g. Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin, Deep Cuts by Holly Brickley, Normal People by Sally Rooney

    • Upmarket/literary fiction with beautiful prose, e.g. Thirst for Salt by Madelaine Lucas, Once There Were Wolves by Charlotte McConaghy

  • I am not the best fit for historical fiction, horror, or fantasy/sci-fi with heavy world-building.
