Sophie Li (she/her) is a first generation Chinese Canadian and an author-illustrator of YA fiction. She is working on a coming-of-age young adult fictional graphic novel about the experiences of Chinese international students at a Canadian university. She’s currently represented by Brent Taylor at TriadaUS.

Having been through Author Mentor Match, Pitch Wars, and The Word Mentorship as a mentee, Sophie is eager to give back to the writing community. As a woman of colour and an immigrant, she is passionate about helping writers of different backgrounds make their voice heard.

Sophie loves reading everything. As a writer of both prose and graphic works, she’s open to mentoring novels and graphic novels in middle grade and young adult. Sophie can offer guidance with plot structure, character arc, and pacing, and can pass along oodles of querying tips, having been in the trenches herself for years.
