Molly McDonough (she/they) is a middle grade and YA author who lives in North Carolina. In her work, she loves to explore the real-life horrors kids face within the safety of fiction. When they aren’t writing, they are probably at the gym, playing with their three dogs (Avi, Rosie, and Nikko,) watching so-bad-it’s-good reality TV, or reading something speculative and sapphic. Her debut, THE HAUNTING OF ASPEN ESTATE, is a cozy, queer, middle grade horror novel coming fall 2027 from Roaring Brook Press (Macmillan). They are represented by Saba Sulaiman of Talcott Notch Literary.

I love ghosts, gothic anything, stories set in the American south, small towns, queer stories that aren’t about coming out, creepy forests, haunted houses as a metaphor, disability + chronic illness representation, ADHD representation, first crushes, and anything spooky and speculative, but I’m open to considering anything and love to be surprised!
