BIO
Shaina A. Cordas is a middle grade, YA, and adult fantasy author dedicated to whimsy and adventure. Shaina was a mentee in the 2021/2022 class of Pitch Wars, won the 2020 Story Pony Flash Fiction Contest, and is represented by Kirsten Lang at Zeno Literary Agency. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and English, which she’s used in roles grant writing and fundraising for nonprofits. Things I’m drawn to: atmospheric writing!!!!!!!!, gorgeous prose, cozy moments of character development, banter, slow burn friendships/relationships. I pine for the escapism elements of fantasy–whisk me away!!!
Things I’m not a good fit for: Horror elements that overtake fantasy elements–extreme body horror, gore, or SA. I’m also not a good fit for fantasy that has high spice scenes in the romantasy category–I gravitate towards an emotional connection between characters over a physical one. I am not a good fit for anything to do with gratuitous animal death.
